@kocafejc The mic is back on and the room is ready to listen.
Join us for an evening of voices that move us and stories that linger long after the lights dim. Our open mic continues to be a space for honest expression, creative exchange, and the kind of moments that remind us why community matters.
This month, we’re honored to feature Jellissa Lacon, AKA Queen of Drafts — New York-born spoken word artist and author of The Girl Who Bows Her Head (2023). A 3x slam champion at the legendary Nuyorican Poets Cafe and 2x featured poet at Lincoln Center, Queen of Drafts has performed across the U.S. and internationally, using poetry to challenge, inspire, and invite beautiful conversations.
The night will be hosted by Uzo (@uzothepoet), bringing warmth and intention to every moment.
Kọ Café, 722 Grand St, Jersey City
Sign-ups begin at 6 PM sharp
Tickets available through Eventbrite

Whether you’re here to perform or simply to listen, join us for a night where words take center stage.
