@artsbythepeople The Platform, Wednesday, October 8 at 7PM, with host Micaela Camacho-Tenreiro. Micaela believes that living, loving, and healing are inherently creative acts. A 2025 CantoMundo fellow and Best of the Net nominee, her work has been published in American Poetry Review, La Revista Bilingüe, and elsewhere; featured by Brooklyn Poets and ONLY POEMS, and commissioned by the Center for Brooklyn History and the Feminist Bird Club of Jersey City.
She serves as bilingual facilitator at the oral history organization, StoryCorps, and LGBTQ+ Coordinator at Jewish Service for the Developmentally Disabled. She holds a B.A. in Hispanic Studies from Brown University, received a 2025 Individual Artist Fellowship from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, and, more importantly, is the proud daughter of Venezuelan immigrants. Her writing, dance, and performance art lives at the border between honesty and hope — between what is and what could be.
